RULES
Each week, pick one "underdog" team to win outright (not just cover the spread) from the scheduled NFL games. Submit your pick via email or phone before the Sunday afternoon games start (1:00 PM Pacific Time).
The pool runs for two separate 8-week contests during the NFL season, with winners determined at the end of each contest.
First through fourth place are decided by the best win/loss (W/L) record. If records are identical, the winner is determined by the highest number of tie-breaker points.
If you don’t submit a pick by 1:00 PM on Sunday, you will automatically get the underdog with the lowest tie-breaker points from the other picks that week.
If your underdog team’s game ends in a tie, your W/L record will reflect that. Players with the most wins will rank higher, but ties can affect your standing if the number of wins and losses is otherwise equal.
Tie-breaker points are calculated using the point spread differential. You take the final score point difference and add the points from the underdog's point spread.
For example: If the final score is New England 15, Indianapolis 21, and Indianapolis was a +3 underdog, your tie-breaker points would be (21 - 15 + 3) = +9.
The "Second Chance" pool is for the best performance over the last three weeks of the contest. The winner is determined by win/loss record and tie-breaker points, providing an opportunity to win even if you didn’t start strong.
If you make your pick before Saturday or use a source other than the Caesars Betting Lines on The Best Underdog Pool website, your pick may not be considered an actual underdog. Always use our website to ensure your pick is valid.
Payouts are approximately 39% for 1st place, 24% for 2nd place, 16% for 3rd place, 10% for 4th place, and 7% for 5th place. $80 is also set aside for the "Second Chance" pool winner.
